fuel gauge problems
I just finished breaking my motor in a couple days ago. Initially the fuel gauge worked fine but at roughly 5 minutes in it dropped to empty. Since then it worked one time for about 20 seconds and now just reads empty 24/7. If it was reading past full id understand the sending unit wasnt being grounded but its not, its going to empty that means it is infact receiving something through the sending wire right? I looked around and didnt see any loose connections,
Thx Chad. |

Chad,
Do you have 12V to the gauge, sending unit? and make sure everything has a good ground, tank, body to frame, battery to engine, engine to frame. Last edited by Tonawandakid : 12-14-2006 at 10:55 AM. |

It's usually a bad ground back at the tank.
